KEY TAKEAWAYS
What are the possible new models that MMPC might launch in the next five years?
MMPC could possibly launch the new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, the all-new Mitsubishi Strada, the production version of the Mitsubishi XFC Concept, the Mitsubishi Xpander HEV, and the next-gen Mitsubishi Montero Sport in the next five years.Hara did not reveal the names of the models, as well as the expected dates of their local release, but here are some of the possible models that MMPC might launch in the coming years:
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
Recently, one unit of the fourth-generation Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV was spotted in the country. It seems that the unit was brought in by MMPC, as it comes with conduction stickers with letters assigned to MMPC.
However, this does not confirm that the model will be launched here as this might just be a marketing strategy to determine customer interest and create hype about the model.
Mitsubishi Strada
The all-new Mitsubishi Strada will make its global debut next month. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) first gave a preview of the all-new Mitsubishi Strada in April at the 2023 Bangkok International Motor Show, through the XRT Concept.
There is not much information about the all-new Mitsubishi Strada, however, it is said to have the same platform as the Nissan Navara.
Although photos of the new model being tested in the Arctic Circle, Europe, and Thailand have appeared online, MMC has not yet disclosed information on its powertrain.
Production version of Mitsubishi XFC Concept
It is also expected that the production version of the Mitsubishi XFC Concept could be one of the five new models that will be launched by MMPC in the next five years.
MMC has announced that they will be unveiling an all-new compact SUV at the 30th Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show in August, and this could possibly be the production version of the concept car.
According to Mitsubishi, this all-new compact SUV will ensure peace of mind even when traveling along rough terrain or flooded roads as it was rigorously tested and tuned based on the road conditions of the ASEAN region.
Mitsubishi Xpander Hybrid
MMC has already teased the hybrid model of the Mitsubishi Xpander, which is anticipated to hit the market next year.
Unfortunately, the automaker has not released any additional information about the Mitsubishi Xpander hybrid variant, but it is expected that this will be powered by an electric motor and a 1.5-liter MIVEC four-cylinder engine.
Mitsubishi Montero Sport
The next-generation Mitsubishi Montero Sport could possibly be the fifth model as it will make its world debut by 2025.
MMC has not yet released details about the next-gen Mitsubishi Montero Sport, but it is assumed that it will draw heavily from the all-new Mitsubishi Strada, with which it shares many of the mechanical components and architectural underpinnings.
It is also anticipated that the next-gen Mitsubishi Montero Sport will receive major upgrades in terms of comfort, safety, technology, and on- and off-road performance.
