Mitsubishi PH welcomes new chief executive in July
MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has announced the appointment of Takeshi Hara as its new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective July.
Hara joined Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) in 1992. He worked with in various areas including plant operation, corporate planning, sales, and after-sales in Japan, and several other countries including Thailand. From 2019 to 2021, Hara served as the president and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Sales Caribbean Inc. Last April, he became a part of MMPC as executive vice president and assistant to the president and CEO.
As the new CEO of MMPC, Hara aims to further improve the customer experience by initiating programs that target to secure new customers and retain loyalty from current Mitsubishi car owners. With his motto, “Serve our customers to enrich their lives,” Hara firmly commits to provide the best products and services to the Filipinos while fortifying the company’s productivity and sustainable development in the country.
Hara will succeed Mutsuhiro Oshikiri (in photo below), who led the company for four years. Oshikiri spearheaded the company’s consistent number-two ranking among all automotive brands in the country. Despite the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, Oshikiri was able to implement structural reforms to strengthen the company. Under his leadership, the company was able to achieve one million units in sales, 700,000 units in local production, 200,000 L300 units, and the highest sales performance in a month in March 2017. He also led the successful launch of the Xpander, which became the top-selling small MPV, and the relaunch of the iconic L300.
MMC and MMPC believe that the appointment of Hara as the new president and CEO will complement the structural reforms by Oshikiri, which made MMPC stronger than ever. Hara’s comprehensive experience and knowledge in various fields of the industry will help the company achieve its goal of enhancing the car buying experience of Filipinos.
