MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is studying collaboration opportunities with PTT Public Company Limited in the areas of electric vehicle (EV) production, sales, export, and other related services.

Per the Japanese carmaker, discussions about EV production in Thailand, domestic sales, exporting, and other related EV solutions will be initiated. The goal of the collaboration will be to contribute to achieving carbon neutrality in The Land of Smiles.
Mitsubishi expressed confidence in PTT and noted that the company has been a leader in Thailand's energy industry for many years. The Tokyo-headquartered company emphasized that PTT has extensive knowledge of the energy industry and automotive market, as well as its own EV ecosystem concept.
“Thailand is one of the most important countries for Mitsubishi Motors’ overseas operations, and we have contributed to the development of the Thai economy for more than 60 years through our automotive business in production, sales, and export. Ensuring the success of this collaboration will enable us to maximize the experiences and resources the four companies have. We will make further contributions to Thailand’s economic prosperity and carbon neutrality policy together with PTT,” Mitsubishi Motors Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Takao Kato stated.
Currently, Mitsubishi’s electrified lineup includes models like the Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (which is available here in the Philippines) and the eK X EV sold in Japan.
