Mitsubishi to discontinue Pajero’s production in Japan, unveils Final Edition
MANILA: Mitsubishi has announced that the production of Pajero will be stopped in Japan. While there’s no word about other markets, we may take a hint. To our no surprise, the carmaker has unveiled the Final Edition Pajero to give it a proper send-off. Since it is a limited edition, only 700 units will be made available.
The Pajero Final Edition does not differ much in comparison to the original model. It gets a large sunroof and the seats are clothed with leather. Moreover, it also consists of a pair of roof rails. Barring these elements, the vehicle looks just like the standard Pajero.
It is powered by a 3.2-litre turbodiesel engine which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 192 PS and a peak torque of 441 Nm. The car has an all-wheel-drive system, where a rear locking differential is also added, accompanied by a centre locking differential.
Mitsubishi provides some extra items along with the Pajero Final Edition in Japan. The scuff plates come first among these. Each of the plates gets a serial number, which makes it unique. Following it, a pair of stickers are also provided to put on the SUV.
The most exciting gift among these is a limited Citizen quartz watch. On its dial, a Mitsubishi Motors logo can be seen and even the watch contains a serial number on it that matches with the SUV. Moreover, the watch is also limited to 700 pieces, just like the Pajero Final Edition.
