Mitsubishi to showcase PH-bound Triton at Japan Mobility Show

MANILA: Mitsubishi is set to bring the Philippine market-bound Triton pickup truck to the upcoming 2023 Japan Mobility Show.

It can be recalled that Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation revealed that the Triton will come to the country in January 2024. It will be replacing the Strada.

“Developed under the product concept of Power for Adventure, the all-new Triton is a one-ton pickup truck with a completely revamped interior and exterior design, frame, chassis, body and engine,” Mitsubishi wrote in a press release.

Some of the key features of the Mitsubishi Triton include a newly-developed ladder frame complementing the truck’s new suspension system.

Under its hood is a new 2.4-liter clean diesel turbo mill, which works well with the Mitsubishi Triton’s Super Select 4WD-II drivetrain with upgraded drive modes.

Further, it boasts a commanding front end design while offering a classy, yet highly functional interior.

Lastly, the three-diamond brand also gave the Mitsubishi Triton improvements in collision safety performance and driver assist features.

Mitsubishi will also be displaying the replica of the Asia Cross Country Rally Triton car as well as its accompanying Delica D:5 support car.

The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle), Eclipse Cross PHEV, and the eK X EV will also be in attendance.

When it comes to concept cars, Mitsubishi will be displaying the Last 1 mile Mobility and a rugged, electrified crossover multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).

The former is an electric buggy-type small mobility vehicle for last-mile transport while the latter is a vehicle that combines the road handling of a sport utility vehicle while offering the comfort and user-friendliness of an MPV.
