The five-seater Xforce was created with a focus on how compact SUVs are utilized in the ASEAN region.
“While ensuring the all-new Xforce meets the requirements for driving performance, ease of handling, a comfortable interior, wide-ranging user-friendliness, and everything else demanded of a compact SUV, we have put our heart and soul into the development to bring excitement to the everyday driving of our customers. This compact SUV was developed to answer the needs of drivers in the ASEAN region and has gone through repeated tuning in the region's road environment,” Mitsubishi Motors Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Takao Kato stated.
The authentic SUV design, which is based on the Silky & Solid concept, establishes a dominating presence in scenes from ASEAN cities to the great outdoors.
With a floating roof and a smooth surface that starts from the three-diamond logo up front and extends along the side to the rear, the upper half of the body exudes an airy silkiness. The lower part takes the robust proportions of an SUV; the vehicle's muscular fender flares convey agility, while the 222mm ground clearance, 18-inch wheels, and large-diameter tires improve its ability to handle rough roads.
On the inside, the Horizontal Axis concept serves as the foundation for the instrument panel's design. It improves forward visibility while making it easier for drivers to notice changes in the position of the vehicle when navigating uneven terrain.
The Xforce is equipped with a large monolithic display panel that integrates a 12.3-inch smartphone-link display audio and a digital driver display. It also comes with Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium that includes eight speakers, with front tweeters on the A-pillars on both sides, woofers in the front doors, and coaxial two-way speakers in the rear doors.
Under the hood of the Xforce is a 1.5-liter DOHC 16-valve MIVEC engine mated to a CVT.
The Xforce delivers a comfortable ride even on rough or bumpy roads as a result of rigorous tuning on actual roads in the ASEAN region roads as well as numerous tests in Japan on a course that replicated the region's road conditions.
The all-new Mitsubishi Xforce comes with four drive modes — Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud — allowing the vehicle to handle a variety of road conditions through the integration of Active Yaw Control, which modifies the driving force on the front wheels to improve traction control, engine control, and power steering control.
