MPT South launches new children’s book to promote road safety
New activity book was designed to impart road safety knowledge to kids
MANILA: Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), has launched a children’s activity book titled “Bayani Ka: Bayani ng Kalsada Book 2 (You are a hero: Hero of the Road 2).”

The Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation currently manages the Cavite-Laguna Expressway, the Manila-Cavite Expressway, the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), the NLEX Connector Road, the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, and the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway.The said book primarily focuses on imparting road safety knowledge among children through captivating stories and colorful illustrations. By making it easily digestible to younger readers, MPT South hopes to educate young kids to become road safety ambassadors.
Per the company, a total of 2,000 copies of the children’s activity book will be donated to public libraries and partner institutions across Metro Manila and the province of CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon).
To note, the new book is the second of its kind and is a follow-up to the first “Bayani Ka: Bayani ng Kalsada,” which was introduced back in 2022. It is a part of MPTC’s current line of corporate social responsibility programs and is representative of the company’s commitment to safe and convenient mobility for all travelers.
“The ‘Bayani Ka: Bayani ng Kalsada Book 2’ initiative was created to equip children with the knowledge and confidence needed for safe street navigation. By integrating this book into schools, we aim to cultivate lasting habits of safety and responsibility,” MPTC Chief Corporate Governance and Risk Officer and Head of Sustainability Atty. Cynthia Casino said.
Director of the National Library of the Philippines, Cesar Gilbert Adriano, was present to receive a copy of the book during its launch. Per Adriano, the book will become a crucial tool in promoting road safety among the youth.
“This book will be a valuable resource for teaching children about road safety, equipping them with the knowledge to navigate safety and understand the importance of traffic rules and pedestrian safety,” Adriano said.
As mentioned above, MPT South is a part of MPTC. Currently, MPTC holds concessions on several major toll roads, including the Cavite-Laguna Expressway, the Manila-Cavite Expressway, the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), the NLEX Connector Road, the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, and the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway.
