MPTC to launch spin-off company for specialized services
MANILA: Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the Philippines’ largest tollway developer and operator, with growing interests in the ASEAN region, is set to launch MPT Mobility, a venture that will provide innovative mobility solutions based on digital technology.
After months of planning, the spin-off will be launched to contain all of MPTC’s non-toll-related enterprises.
While having a new entity, MPT Mobility is positioned to a leader in digital adoption, with a conglomeration of new business divisions offering digitally driven solutions. These solutions address non-competence but critical businesses operation needs in areas including line work management, manufacturing, and other products and services.
The subsidiaries set to go online soon are Dibz; Spot On Advertising; NLEX Drive & Dine; Southbend Express Services, Inc.; Business Development; Easytrip Services Corporation; and One Hub.
Dibz is a parking services company that offers pre-booked parking, valet services, parking management, and the Dibz Shop. It was initially established to alleviate parking frustrations in congested metro areas, but it is now focused on developing an integrated ecosystem of mobility advantages for motorists.
Spot On Advertising delivers OOH (out of home) advertising opportunities to the business community. The company’s current inventory includes bridge and median billboards that have face-on visibility to motorists, as well as strategically placed roadside billboards. Digital and smart LED signage backed by data analytics are being planned for the high-visibility thoroughfares of EDSA, C5, and Roxas Boulevard to give more effective ad placement outcomes.
The NLEX Drive & Dine is a toll service facility (TSF) that houses some of the most popular fast food restaurants, full-dining restaurants, drive-through dining, one-stop shops for local items and delicacies, premium brand stores and bargain outlets, and gasoline stations. Drive & Dine also provides NLEX motorists with clean, spacious, and air-conditioned restrooms along Valenzuela, Meycauayan, Marilao, and nearby areas.
Southbend Express Services, Inc. provides outsourced manpower for general and maintenance services, roadway systems products and services, and traffic and auxiliary works on road network operations. Southbend caters to a diverse client base, including toll road operations, water services, and others, with over 900 workers currently deployed. Moreover, Southbend is DOLE 174 and ISO 9001:2015 certified.
Business Development, MPT Mobility’s innovation and diversification unit, concentrates on generating initiatives that use digital technology as a major component. Some of the initiatives in the works are Fiber Optics Communication Interface, Smart Cities, and Intermodal terminals that meet a variety of mobility requirements.
Easytrip Services Corporation is an account management company that oversees the electronic toll collection system for Metro Pacific Tollway. Long-term, the company aspires to be a provider and integrator of innovative smart mobility solutions for road merchants, logistic firms, vehicle and transportation-related enterprises, and private motorists. However, in the short term, Easytrip promotes the use of RFID for seamless, contactless, cashless, and secure transactions.
One Hub is MPT Mobility’s centralized customer response organization that responds to service concerns across all of MPTC’s digital touchpoints. Customers can conduct real-time chat on website, portal, or app touchpoints. One Hub is positioned to benefit the MPTC group by speed up inquiry responses and case resolutions, providing centralized receipts, and handling all customer concerns.
