Multivan PanAmericana concept: A Gift to Mountain Bikers from VW
MANILA: VW Multivan PanAmericana has been unveiled at the VAG nights ahead of its much-awaited debut at the 66th IAA Frankfurt. Currently a concept vehicle, this offroader is soon expected to transform into a limited edition model. This Multivan unlike the ordinary is packed with 'off-roader' like performance and SUV-like comfort. The end result is a commercial vehicle that has not restricted itself to the mere job of transporting, but it is engineered to do its job in style. So, the next time if you are planning to go to high mountains with your beloved bike, just load it in this Multivan and you are good to go.
VW has stuffed the Multivan PanAmericana with unlimited power that allows the driver to ride the vehicle to any of his desired destination. It seems to be no less than an angel's gift for the hardcore motorbike racers. Apart from its large interior space it is armed with electrically assisted loading and unloading ramp and interior mounting hooks. Motivated by a 2.0-litre TDI BMT diesel engine, it is capable of generating 204 PS of maximum power and 450 Nm of peak torque. Further, the power mill is mated to a 7-speed DSG that sends power to all four wheels via the 4Motion permanent all-wheel drive with mechanical rear differential lock.
Enough of the mechanical stuff, now let’s talk about its styling work that seems to have caught many eyes at the event. The PanAmericana showcased at the event was spilled in Oryx White paint with red accents on the lower front profile and side profile. Grey body cladding further covers the entire car and blends perfectly with the white and red colour spill. The car speaks out for itself and carries PanAmericana badge at the rear and on the B-pillar, making clear that the car will never suffer from an identity crises ailment.
The interior space is a perfect amalgamation of sophistication and sporty feel. From its seat covers to its floor covers, every little detail is taken perfect care of. Decorative white and carbon strips are stitched to the seats making its interior well-coordinated with the exterior body colour palette. Aluminium diamond plate embossed on the passenger floor adds to the vehicle tough aura and also a bit to its style quotient.
Showcased for the first time in Frankfurt, VW with its new Multivan aims to target a specific group of customers. Including mainly those who owe high profile bikes and have a thing for riding bikes on high terrains and over long distance race courses. So, if your profile matches to that of VW, come ahead take this new VW creation home and enjoy your next adventure ride.
