New Honda City Hatch expected to sell 25% more than previous version

MANILA: Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated (HCPI) is expecting that the updated City Hatchback to emerge as the more popular version than its predecessor. 

HCPI Sales Division General Manager Aizza Te Tan-Flores shared to Zigwheels Philippines during the launch of the facelifted City Hatchback that the company is looking to sell 100 units of the said model per month. 

According to the HCPI executive, the sales target for the updated hatchback model is around 25 percent higher than the brand’s sales target for the pre-updated City Hatchback.

Te Tan-Flores likewise mentioned the good performance of the refreshed City Hatchback’s reservation period, saying that about 100 pre-ordered units are headed to their respective owners. 

Coincidentally, the more popular color options being picked up by those who have put down reservations for the model are Platinum White Pearl and the new Sonic Gray Pearl. 

To note, the updated hatchback feature the Honda Sensing advanced driver-assist system suite, which has the adaptive cruise control, lead car departure notification, collision mitigation, lane keep assist, road departure mitigation, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. 

The updated vehicle's exterior likewise boasts revisions to the RS kit, particularly the grille, front bumper, and lower rear bumper. Wrapping up the updated Honda model’s looks are a set of 16-inch Berlina Black Alloy wheels and LED exterior lighting elements. 

Carried over from the previous version of the City Hatchback is a 1.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engine making 119 horsepower and 145 Newton Meters of torque. Power is sent to its front wheels via continuous variable transmission (CVT) with paddle shifters. 

Those eyeing to acquire the updated Honda City Hatchback can have the vehicle in the sole RS CVT variant for P1.189 million.
