What are the key features of the Honda Sensing 360+?
The Honda Sensing 360+ comes with Advanced In Lane Driving, Active Lane Change Recommendation, Predictive Curve Departure Warning, Exit Warning, and Driver Emergency Support System. On which model will the Honda Sensing 360+ be first applied?
The Honda Sensing 360+ will debut on the new Accord which will be launched in China in 2024.The Honda Sensing 360+ incorporates a driver monitoring camera to monitor the driver’s behavior, and high-definition maps to control the vehicle.
One of the key features of Honda Sensing 360+ is Advanced In Lane Driving, which keeps the vehicle along the middle of the lane at the predetermined speed. When turning, the system detects the curvature of the lane and applies deceleration and acceleration based on the curvature. It uses the high-definition maps and the global navigation satellite system to determine the position of the vehicle.
Another feature is the Active Lane Change Recommendation that notifies the driver if a lane change is possible when the car ahead is moving at a slower speed. When the driver approves the lane change, they simply need to press the switch button on the steering wheel and the system will then control the turn signal and the steering to pass and return to the original lane.
The Honda Sensing 360+ also comes with Predictive Curve Departure Warning that alerts the driver when approaching or navigating a curve on an expressway and assists in decelerating to reduce the risk of a roadway departure.
Also included in the new safety suite is the Exit Warning, which detects if another car is approaching from the rear when the vehicle is parked. It illuminates the indicator on the front pillar or side mirror to help the occupants recognize an approaching vehicle. If there is a risk of a collision between the vehicle door that the occupant is about to open and an approaching car, the system will also flash an indicator and sound an alarm.
Another key feature is the Driver Emergency Support System that helps decelerate the vehicle and stop it within the same lane when the driver is no longer able to continue driving for some reasons, such as a sudden change in health condition. The system then connects to the Helpnet emergency call center service to ensure the safety of the driver, passengers, and other road users.
The Honda Sensing 360+ will debut on the new Accord which will be launched in China in 2024.
