New Jeep Renegade 4xe embraces plug-in hybrid technology

Nevertheless, the focus of Jeep on sustainability goes deeper than this and begins before these vehicles go on the road. This is due to a production cycle engineered to have the lowest impact on the environment.

The new plug-in hybrid technology of the Jeep Renegade enhances its capability through improved on-road performance in daily driving. It is not just ideal on rocks, mud, or sand. It promises driving pleasure and capacity ideal for urban roads.

The new Renegade 4xe also provides the superb driving dynamics and performance of any Jeep SUV. It is accurately able to go anywhere else and features the iconic 4x4 capability, which has been developed for more than 80 years.

The new Jeep 4xe boasts blue Jeep, 4xe, and Renegade emblems. A wide selection of customization alternatives also exists since it has up to 18 various exterior colors.

Aside from this, a maximum of four specific wheel configurations is available for the Renegade 4xe.

The new Jeep Renegade 4xe range also has three trim levels, namely, Trailhawk, Limited, and Longitude. All of these feature a six-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive (eAWD).

The Jeep Renegade 4xe matches a 1.3-liter turbo petrol engine with an electric motor, which is situated between the rear axle.

Independently, the efficient 1.3-liter turbo engine brings a power output of 130hp or 180hp, plus the 60hp that the electric motor generates, arriving at a total of 240hp in the Trailhawk model and 190hp in the Limited and Longitude versions. Meanwhile, the combustion engine brings 270Nm while the electric motor generates 250Nm of torque.

The Renegade 4xe also includes a new six-speed automatic transmission selector, upgraded Selec-Terrain rotary control with eAWD modes (hill descent control, 4WD low, 4WD lock) to participate in various driving modes. It also includes the new Sport mode for improved steering and throttle response.

Inside, a seven-inch TFT color display and Uconnect NAV with 8.4-inch touchscreen, DAB radio, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay are provided as standard. Black embellishments can be seen in the center console bezels, speakers, and air vents on the Limited and Longitude trim levels. The Trailhawk trim, on the other hand, flaunts ruby-red accents.

The new Jeep Renegade 4xe comes with a roster of the most innovative ADAS systems available, which include rear and front parking sensors, intelligent speed assist and traffic sign recognition, forward collision warning and lane departure warning plus, and high-visibility full LED headlights.

The Jeep Renegade 4xe also includes the new drowsy driver detection system, provided for the first time in a Jeep model.

Other additional safety inclusions are automatic park assist and keyless go, Parkview rear backup camera with dynamic gridlines, and blind-spot detection.

The Jeep Renegade 4xe will be rolled out in UK showrooms by September 2020, with global markets to follow suit in the future.
