New Mercedes-Benz 'Manufaktur' offers wider range of customization options
MANILA: Mercedes-Benz has officially launched its "Manufaktur" label as another step forward in catering to customers' desire for individuality. The new label helps enhance the brand's existing product portfolio with additional exclusivity and luxury.
With the launch of the Manufaktur label, Mercedes-Benz now offers corresponding customization programs for the CLS, the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, and the S-Class, as well as for the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. A corresponding program for the G-Class was already introduced several years ago. The "G manufaktur" offers its own range of materials and colors specially developed for the models' architecture.
"Buying a new vehicle means making numerous decisions at the same time. After all, your car is always part of your personal everyday life, and an expression of your own lifestyle. In addition to a choice of engine, paint finishes, interior equipment and comfort features, Mercedes-Benz customers are offered many options with which they can tailor their dream vehicle to their needs. For those who are also looking for something unique in terms of paintwork, leather upholstery and interior design, Mercedes-Benz now offers further, exclusive customization options for selected model series with the new Manufaktur label. These combine luxurious craftsmanship, the highest quality materials and fascinating design," Mercedes-Benz said in a statement.
Customers can expect an ambience characterized by an aesthetic and exceptional color concept, the finest materials, premium comfort, and exclusive trim elements in piano lacquer or wood. The excellence of craftsmanship is highlighted in the embroidery, leatherwork, and intricate trim elements. For the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, a chrome lettering Manufaktur badge is embellished on the center console and as a discreet embroidery on the rear window shelf.
The Manufaktur also offers an exclusive range of signature paint finishes in silky matte, high-gloss metallic, and rich non-metallic colors. Some of these colors evoke the Mercedes-Benz history and iconic cars. Manufaktur Graphite Grey was part of the color selection until the 1960s and enhanced the look of the iconic 300 SL "Gullwing." Manufaktur Graphite Metallic and Manufaktur Olive Metallic became exclusive exterior options in the 1980s, while Manufaktur China Blue became popular for the E-Class (W123) and S-Class (W126) in the 1990s. Mercedes-Benz also introduced fine and elegant matte finishes such as Manufaktur Cashmere White Magno, Manufaktur Kalahari Gold Magno, and the sporty Manufaktur Night Black Magno. All Manufaktur paint finishes embody high quality and highlight the appeal of Mercedes-Benz vehicles and their dynamic form.
The ambience of the interior is characterized by premium Nappa leather with contrasting color concepts. Customers can choose from among the classic Manufaktur Deep White/Black Exclusive Nappa, the iconic Manufaktur Pastel Yellow/Black Exclusive Nappa, Manufaktur Nut Brown/Black, Manufaktur Truffle Brown/Black, and Manufaktur Yacht Blue/Black. To provide pleasant seating comfort, the seats are designed with exquisite diamond-pattern stitching. The Manufaktur upholstery package also includes tone-on-tone additional cushions with an embroidered logo—either the Mercedes-Benz star, the double-M rhombus of Mercedes-Benz Maybach, or Mercedes-AMG lettering on the floor mats. For a more luxurious ambience, the trademarks can also be embroidered in gold or platinum for the S-Class and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.
A handcrafted two-toned Manufaktur leather steering wheel is also available to further enhance the feel of a tailored interior.
To additionally highlight the brand presence, Mercedes-Benz also offers the Manufaktur surround lighting with animated projection. Using advanced LED technology, animated Mercedes-Benz or Mercedes-Maybach patterns illuminate the front and rear entry areas when the doors are opened. This light show is formed by four LCD projectors installed on the front and rear doors, which automatically switches off after 10 minutes.
For the CLS, customers can select among various paint finishes, including a striking shade of blue called Manufaktur Cote d'Azur Light Blue Metallic, as well as signature leather variants. Leather steering wheel and floor mats can also be added. For the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, Mercedes-Benz offers a range of paint and upholstery finishes that provide an even higher level of individuality. Customers can choose to highlight the car's sporty or luxurious side through its new color variants, including the combination of Exclusive Nappa Leather in Titanium Grey Pearl/Black with contrasting topstitching in Yellow and Exclusive Nappa Leather in Auburn Brown/Black in the Style finish.
Mercedes-Benz targets to include other model series in the Manufaktur range in the coming years. Manufaktur paint finishes and equipment package will also be available with sub-brands such as AMG, Maybach and EQ. The new Manufaktur label replaces the previous individualization portfolio and label "designo."
