New Toyota Yaris out in 2021, now available for reservation
MANILA: Before the year ends, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) revealed the 2021 edition of the Toyota Yaris.
The latest version of the well-loved hatchback comes with two selections: the Toyota Yaris 1.5 S CVT and the Toyota Yaris 1.3 E CVT.
The vehicle now features an upgraded exterior look with a revamped front grille with LED fog lamps. Its top trim, the 1.5 S CVT, also has improved headlamps which are now LEDs (light-emitting diodes) with daytime running lights (DRLs).
The new Yaris is also introduced with a new fun color, the Cyan Metallic. Apart from this, it is also available in Citrus Mica Metallic, Red Mica Metallic, and Super White II.
The Toyota Yaris uses a 1.5-liter Dual VVT-i engine for the S CVT variant and a 1.3-liter VVT-i engine for the E CVT variant, matched to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The top variant can give the driver a convenient driving experience with its paddle shifters and drive modes (Eco and Sport) which can be modified based on the driving style.
The five-seater hatchback possesses a vast interior and a huge cargo area. Passengers can enjoy an enhanced comfort on the 1.5 S CVT variant which features synthetic leather seats and a six-speaker audio system. Toyota has also upgraded the infotainment system for all the Yaris variants with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity which can be easily adjusted through the media control buttons that are mounted on the steering wheel.
When it comes to safety features, the Yaris remains reliable with its seven supplemental restraint system (SRS) airbags, vehicle stability control (VSC), and hill-start assist. Once again, the 1.5 S CVT variant gains an advantage with its speed-sensing door locks.
TMP Vice President of Marketing Services Elijah Marcial stated that 2020 has been a jam-packed year for Toyota and they would like to end it with an exciting reveal of the all-new Yaris which will surely captivate the Filipinos. Marcial described their target market for the Yaris as the “married professionals in their mid to late 30s looking for a modern fun-to-drive vehicle that offers the great cargo space a hatchback offers.” She added, “The Yaris nameplate has amassed quite a loyal fan base for being synonymous with fun driving and flashy looks, and this year we’ve elevated it with a new premium eye-catching design to suit our customers’ evolving style. All without, of course, compromising on the power, convenience, and safety we’ve all come to expect from every Toyota.”
Reservations for the 2021 Toyota Yaris began last December 19, 2020. The official retail sales in all Toyota dealerships nationwide will start on January 13, 2021. The new Yaris is priced at P973,000 for the 1.3 E CVT variant and P1.114 million for the 1.5 S CVT variant.
