Nissan is 2024 Tokyo E-Prix's official race partner

MANILA: Nissan has been named as the official race partner of the first-ever 2024 Tokyo E-Prix.

Per the Japanese carmaker, the inaugural race of the motorsport organization in Japan is part of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and is scheduled for March 30, 2024.

“Nissan is excited to partner with Formula E for the historic maiden Tokyo E-Prix. This collaboration is more than a race, it’s a celebration of innovation and sustainability that resonates with our vision for a cleaner, more exciting future. We’re proud to bring this experience to Tokyo and to contribute Nissan’s pioneering spirit to the world of electric motorsport,” Nissan Formula E Team Managing Director and Team Principal Tommaso Volpe stated.

To be held around Tokyo Big Sight, the 2024 Tokyo E-Prix will put the racers through a formidable 18-turn, 2.58-kilometer street circuit. The race track has three long straights, a series of tight technical turns, and high-speed combinations — promising fans an unparalleled experience against Tokyo’s metropolitan backdrop.

Nissan said that its partnership with Formula E for the said race is a display of the brand’s dedication to innovation and sustainability. The carmaker’s strides in advanced material use, recycling technologies, and social initiatives align perfectly with the race organization’s mission to advance electric vehicle adoption and development.

The 2024 Tokyo E-Prix will feature a myriad of fan-focused events, including an immersive Formula E Zone, a gaming arena with simulators, E-karting for children, and an Electric Garden with educational showcases on electric vehicle technology.
