Nissan’s Senior Vice President for M&A, Partnership Finance, and Alliance Projects Atul Pasricha will be retiring sometime during the summer (June to September) of 2024. Pasricha’s successor is yet to be announced but Nissan reports he is poised to continue supporting the company during the transition.

In turn, Nissan Corporate Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO), Global IS/IT Yasunobu Matoba will be stepping down from his position on June 30, 2024.

Stepping up to the plate as the company’s new Chief Digital Information Officer is Jan Brecht. Brecht is officially assuming his new role at Nissan on July 1, 2024. He is to report under Chief Financial Officer Stephen Ma in Japan.

Brecht, Nissan says, will be joining the company after serving as the CIO of Mercedes-Benz since 2015. He has expertise in the said role, as well as proven know-how with regard to digitalization. According to the Japanese carmaker, Brecht's experience will play a crucial role in meeting its long-term goals.

Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. President Makoto Uchida

With regards to The Arc, it will serve as a bridge between Nissan NEXT which ran from the fiscal year 2020 to 2023, and Nissan Ambition 2030 - the company’s long-term vision.

The Arc has several sub-goals all pointing towards making the company more competitive. The most notable of which is the introduction of 30 new models to be launched by 2026. A total 16 models out of the 30 will be electrified.

Also under The Arc business plan, Nissan will be refreshing 60 percent of its internal combustion engine passenger vehicle models by fiscal year 2026. Furthermore, the company plans to develop more strategic partnerships, as well as reducing the costs of its next-generation electric vehicles by 30 percent come 2026.
