Nissan Patrol gets a minor facelift
MANILA: The current generation of the Nissan Patrol has been on sale for quite a long time and the introduction of an all-new model is said to be on its way for 2020. However, before that, the company has brought a new facelift of the car for 2019.
The changes on the 2019 Nissan Patrol isn’t very significant where the interiors have got almost no major updates. However, the company has upgraded the Intelligent Mobility package for safety. Hence, beside the 360-degree camera, the SUV has the blind spot monitoring system, rear cross traffic alert, automatic emergency brakes for both sides, lane keep assist and forward collision warning.
On the exterior front, the changes on the 2019 Nissan Patrol are subtle. As for an example, the front bumper is new which has a deeper apron compared to the outgone model. And due to this, the fog lamp cluster has seen a refreshment, which is a more conventional round-ish design instead of the trapezoidal.
There are fender flares added as an option. Also marking the changes are the dual-tone alloy wheels. Move to the rear and you will find a similar design, albeit mild modifications. The rear diffuser at the rear is more pronounced than before. The exhaust tip is now dipped in chrome.
Nissan hasn’t made any changes under the hood of the facelifted Patrol. The same 4.0-litre V6 engine is offered in the lower trims, which can churn out a maximum power of 275 PS along with a peak torque of 390 Nm. Moreover, the globally-offered 5.6-litre V8 engine is also offered, which can thump out a maximum power of 400 PS and a peak torque of 560 Nm.
The upcoming generation of the Patrol, slated for the next decade, is expected to be built on the same platform used by the Mitsubishi Pajero.
