There was an outdoor display that showcased the Nissan Leaf being charged using solar panels in order to power the entire Nissan booth through its V2L capabilities. With the theme “Mobility + Humanity: Innovating for the Common Good,” this year’s event marked the motor show’s comeback after its 2020 edition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Coming together for the first time in a while to celebrate innovation for the common good makes this event all the more significant. Like this year's PIMS, Nissan Philippines also strives to provide innovations and technologies that put the needs of the Filipino motorist at the forefront. Events like this undoubtedly raise awareness for this cause, and we're glad to see it happening on an industry-wide scale,” Nissan Philippines President Juan Manuel Hoyos stated.
The all-new Nissan Kicks e-Power and the all-new Nissan Livina headlined the display.
PIMS attendees were given a chance to test drive the powerful, fully electric motor-driven system of the all-new Kicks e-Power, which was launched last month.
The arrival of the all-new Kicks e-Power in the country strengthened Nissan’s leadership in electrified mobility, providing Filipinos another exciting innovation to improve their daily drive.
With e-Power, Nissan's existing EV technology is combined with a petrol engine whose sole purpose is to charge the battery. This delivers a ride that is more powerful and fuel-efficient than a conventional petrol-powered car while also being quieter.
Nissan Kicks e-Power runs 22km/L to 25km/L, depending on the driving and traffic conditions, according to UNR101 fuel efficiency testing. When compared to other traditional internal combustion engines in the same segment, this consumption is twice as efficient. The Kicks e-Power has 41-liter fuel tank capacity, which translates to a possible range of up to 900km to 1,000km in one full tank.
The Livina, Nissan’s latest model and entry into the MPV segment, was also on display at the motor show. Nissan Livina puts together the brand’s signature innovation with the needs of modern families that need a comfortable and convenient ride.
The sustainability of the Nissan Leaf was also highlighted at the motor show. There was an outdoor display that showcased the vehicle being charged using solar panels in order to power the entire Nissan booth through its vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities. This technology comes handy in emergencies like power outages and disasters. Attendees saw firsthand how the Nissan Leaf’s electric vehicle technology is ready to serve communities by addressing social concerns like ecotourism, energy management, and disaster relief.
The Kicks e-Power, Livina, and Leaf were accompanied by the rest of Nissan’s lineup.
The Almera showcased its cutting-edge redesign and Nissan Intelligent Mobility features. Meanwhile, the Terra presented its aggressive looks, unrivaled comfort, and improved road power. The Navara, which is now smarter, stronger, and equipped with Nissan Intelligent Mobility, was also on display.
The Nissan booth also featured the Patrol with its improved safety features and class-design. The iconic GT-R was also at the motor show to intensify the excitement with its performance and speed.
“The continued growth of Nissan is attributed to our increased focus on safer, smarter, and more sustainable mobility and we are happy to share our full vehicle lineup that highlights all of that,” Hoyos added. “We're excited to be here alongside our fellow manufacturers, and see the work that the industry is doing to create a better world through electrified and innovative vehicles.”
