Nissan PH is official mobility partner in WTTC Global Summit 2022

MANILA: The Department of Tourism (DOT) teamed up with Nissan Philippines for the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit 2022, which is considered as the biggest event in the travel and tourism sector.

The conference, which took place last April 20 to 22, gathered industry leaders and government officials from all over the world. The theme of this year's conference is "Rediscovering Travel," with the goal of bringing together local and international tourism industry experts to explore best practices and initiatives on how to make travel safer and more sustainable.

The Nissan Terra, Nissan Patrol, Nissan Almera, and Nissan Leaf transported international delegates during their stay in Manila.

“We are glad to be working again with the Department of Tourism to promote local tourism as we have been doing in the Safe Trips campaign,” Nissan Philippines Communications General Manager Dax Avenido stated. “This is another opportunity to encourage not just our fellow Filipinos, but also tourists from different countries, to rediscover the beauty of the Philippines and to explore our country.”

In 2021, Nissan Philippines and DOT renewed their contract for the Safe Trips campaign. The campaign was introduced in 2020 to promote the local tourism sector by encouraging safe and responsible travel during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nissan Philippines and DOT have visited local tourist spots to promote safe trips since the program's inception. In its recent Boracay trip, Nissan also promoted sustainable tourism by using the Leaf electric vehicle.
