Nissan PH Renews Partnership with DOT for ‘Drive Pinas’
MANILA: The Department of Tourism (DOT) and Nissan Philippines, Inc. renewed their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to launch the Drive Pinas program.

At the MOA signing ceremony held at Okada Manila, DOT Undersecretary Myra Paz-Abubakar spoke on behalf of DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco and thanked Nissan Philippines for their continuous support and commitment to achieving their shared goal of promoting the breathtaking natural wonders of the Philippines to the world.
In Frasco’s speech delivered by Paz-Abubakar at the event, she said, “Our nation is brimming with hidden gems, places that have yet to be fully explored and experienced. Drive Pinas will shine a spotlight on these extraordinary locations, enabling travelers to uncover their magic, immerse themselves in local culture, and forge unforgettable memories.”
Nissan Philippines, Inc. President Juan Manuel Hoyos also expressed his delight for their renewed partnership with the DOT in his opening remarks.
“While the Department of Tourism already has a strong vision to make locals and tourists alike love the Philippines even more — like I do — Nissan supports this vision with our commitment to creating innovative vehicles and technologies to add excitement to these journeys, all while leaving a positive impact on society and environment,” he said.
Nissan Philippines, Inc. and the DOT have worked together on numerous projects over the past eight years, including the “Visit the Philippines, Drive to Discover with Nissan” campaign and more recently, the “Safe Trips” campaign, which sought to promote local attractions and increase domestic travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
