MANILA: Nissan Philippines’ triathlon team was able to finish strong at the recently held Ironman 70.3 Lapu-Lapu.

The challenge comprised a 1.9-kilometer (km) swim, a 90-km bike ride against strong headwinds that battered the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway, and a grueling 21-km run in scorching 33-degree Celsius heat.
The Nissan tri-team was represented by three groups: the Nissan Brand Ambassador group led by Nissan ambassadors Matteo Guidicelli and Bubbles Paraiso, the Nissan Employee group, and the Nissan Dealer Principals group.
Each group — Nissan pointed out — played a part in the team’s success. During the triathlon event, team members showed grit, navigating the course with precision and resilience.
“We are proud of the performance of our Nissan team at the 2024 Ironman 70.3 Lapu-Lapu,” Nissan Philippines said in a press release.
“Their remarkable dedication and perseverance reflect the core values of Nissan, embodying the brand’s DNA of ‘Daring to do what others don't’ as they challenged their capabilities all throughout the race, and we couldn't be prouder of their achievements,” the company added.
In addition to the team’s collective efforts, they showcased remarkable individual performances, contributing to the brand’s overall success at the 2024 Ironman 70.3 Lapu-Lapu.
The Nissan Brand Ambassador group finished in the top 30 percent overall and top 10 for mixed relay teams, while the Nissan Employee team finished in the top 50 percent overall. Not to be outdone, the Nissan Dealer Principals finished strong in the top 70 percent overall.
“We congratulate all participants of Ironman 70.3 Lapu-Lapu on a successful event,” wrote Nissan Philippines.
“Nissan is proud to have been part of this event, and we look forward to continuing to support and inspire athletes as they push the boundaries of endurance and achievement,” it noted.
