Nissan posts 2.7-M sales from Jan.-Oct. 2023

MANILA: Nissan Motor Corporation has sold a total of 2,774,215 cars from January to October of 2023.

According to the Japanese car brand, the company handed over 407,981 vehicles to its domestic customers while it managed to sell 2,366,234 automobiles to its overseas clients.

Comparing the said numbers to Nissan’s sales in the same period last year, the carmaker sold only 378,008 cars locally and 2,355,383 vehicles outside of the country.

That means that the abovementioned numbers reflected a 7.9-percent increase in Nissan’s Japanese sales while the carmaker enjoyed a 0.5-percent jump in its overseas transactions.

For the month of November alone, Nissan sold 35,939 units in Japan while it sold 243,163 cars to its overseas customers.

Per the Yokohama-headquartered brand, its strongest market outside of Japan is North America. Here, Nissan sold 1,038,964 vehicles in the first nine months of the year. It is followed by China (where it sold 620,016 cars), and Europe (where its sales totaled to 284,045 units).

Nissan did not mention which of its nameplates were among the brand’s best-sellers.

In the Philippines, Nissan’s roster is made up of the Almera and Leaf sedans; the Kicks e-Power, Terra, Livina, and Patrol sport utility vehicles; the Navara pickup truck; the Urvan van; as well as the GT-R and Z performance cars.
