  • Per the Japanese carmaker, the Nissan Ariya Nismo “elevates the already impressive performance of the 87 kWh (kilowatt-hour) Ariya to new heights of exhilaration.” The said model “combines the best of motorsports engineering, with the sleek design and interior of the Nissan Ariya to cement its status as a Nismo masterpiece.”

The European market Nissan Ariya Nismo packs an all-electric e-4ORCE powertrain complemented by an 87 kWh battery. The said setup generates some 429 horses with 600 Newton-meters of torque.

According to the Kanagawa-based marque, the Nissan Ariya Nismo can speed from zero to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in five seconds. It also takes it 2.4 seconds to sprint from 80-120 kph.

While the Euro-spec Nissan Ariya Nismo’s range was not highlighted, the American market Ariya Venture + variant (also equipped with an 87 kWh battery) can offer owners up to 489 kilometers of emission-free driving.

In general, the Nissan Ariya Nismo boasts “increased turning and lateral force” than the GT-R Nismo. This is all thanks to the vehicle’s tuned suspension, which consists of modified springs, stabilizers, and shock absorbers. Further, a high-level balanced chassis increases the control of body motion resulting in an enhanced level of rigidity and dynamism.

Nissan also pointed out that the Ariya Nismo for the European region has been equipped with performance-oriented exterior appointments. These include its canard-like extended lower bumper and ducktail rear spoiler, a twin rear diffuser, a wider door finisher, as well as spoilers and air curtains, which took inspiration from Formula E.

It also runs on Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires, which wrap Enkei “MAT Process” 20-inch wheels with thin spokes that reduce drag and weight.

The cabin of the Nissan Ariya Nismo for Europe features seats trimmed in a suede-like material. Blackened open-pore wood trims are also used throughout the vehicle’s cabin, which gives it a sophisticated and modern aesthetic.

To be expected, the electric crossover is peppered with Nismo branding. Outside, Nismo badges can be found on the fore, sides, and rear. The Nismo logo is also applied on the vehicle’s seats and the displays.

    European launch date

Nissan said that the Ariya Nismo will be rolled out in all European countries (except Cyprus, Malta, and Northern Ireland) starting next year.
