Nissan reveals 2021 Patrol Nismo in Expo 2020 Dubai virtual event
MANILA: Last March 31, the 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo was globally launched online in an event organized by Expo 2020 Dubai.
This marked a new chapter for the performance brand of Nissan, which is in the process of preparing to provide visitors a preview into the future of mobility during the six-month event beginning October 1, 2021.
Being the official automotive partner of the Expo 2020 Dubai, Nissan plans to utilize its global expertise, and display next-generation cars according to the brand’s vision of promoting driving innovation to improve people’s lives. This also coincides with the Expo 2020’s purpose of “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.”
The new race-inspired iteration of the iconic Patrol combines prominent exteriors with the sophistication of a luxury vehicle and the thrilling performance of a sports car.
The SUV will be made available only to customers in the region, and it will kick off a year-long celebration to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Nissan Patrol’s launch in 1951.
Nissan’s legacy as a motorsport brand, as well as the region’s long-standing passion for high-performance cars, are highlighted in the new manifestation of the athletic and bold Nissan Patrol Nismo.
The dynamic design plays a significant role in emphasizing the profile of the Patrol Nismo — showcasing sportiness and boldness with a commanding presence.
The exterior is equipped with a new front fascia, with a honeycomb three-dimensional mesh that highlights the front V-Motion grille of the SUV, together with horizontal chrome lines and new front lamps accented with the Nismo logo.
The rear bumper appears to be more symmetrical in design to emphasize the car width, with its new tail lamps and dark chrome inserts. It is also fitted with LED rear fog lights that take inspiration from the Nissan Formula E car, which gives out the same brightness as the brake lights of the vehicle during extreme conditions.
The 22-inch, two-tone aluminum wheels flaunt the Nismo emblem to add a unique aesthetic while the tuned suspension of the SUV includes Bilstein shock absorbers, which offer enhanced and sportier handling.
Although the exterior has been streamlined to enable maximum suspension and aerodynamics, as well as to attain zero lift force, the SUV is also fitted with improved handling capabilities and trendy race-inspired ergonomic improvements.
Being the performance brand of Nissan, the Nismo is in charge of performance cars and motorsports activities, and is dedicated towards offering an exciting driving experience.
The 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo, with its superb craftsmanship, joins the GT-R Nismo and the 370Z Nismo in providing motorsports-inspired design and aerodynamics, unrivaled agility, and premium handling capabilities.
The 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo bolsters the appearance of the Patrol V8 LE Platinum City model, and coincides with the new design concept of Nissan that takes pride in vibe, humanity, energy, and boldness.
The “takumi” craftsmen team, consisting of four master engine builders, handle the efficient tuning of every vehicle. They are allowed to hand-craft the Nissan GT-R engines at the Yokohama engine facility of the auto brand. Their skill in tuning the V8 engine of the Patrol resulted in a torque of 560Nm and a power output of 428hp.
A major design update to the 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo is the inclusion of a side duct to the front bumper to attain zero lift force, allowing the vehicle to retain its breakthrough milestone within the SUV category.
The interior takes pride in the racing heritage and the elegance of Nismo in equal measure. This continues the story of the Nismo in delivering luxury and performance to its car owners.
The Nismo variant of the Patrol gets Alcantara fabric with side leather, which is considered to be the preferred upholstery for racing cars.
The black Alcantara steering wheel is also inspired by racing cars, with red carbon fiber inserts to offer a dynamic and athletic feel. The Nismo emblem is embossed on the headrests.
The dashboard and redesigned center console contribute to the Nismo interior, enabling the driver to make effective decisions in real time.
The 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo also boasts of improved cabin quietness due to a decrease in the frame vibration, while air-conditioning (AC) updates for the second row aid in offering a more comfortable drive.
The 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo has also been updated with the latest Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) technologies to offer drivers with comfort and security while driving.
The latest inclusions are High Beam Assist, Smart Rearview Mirror, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, and Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. Other updates to the Patrol Nismo are wireless charging capability and USB ports that include USB-C and USB-A as well as Apple CarPlay compatibility.
The 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo can be availed in four exterior colors, namely, Grey, Silver Metallic, Black Solid, and White Pearl colors.
The 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo will be available across the Middle East beginning this month.
