Nissan Serena hailed as 2023-2024 JCOTY Technology Car of the Year

MANILA: The Nissan Serena minivan was named Technology Car of the Year at the 2023-2024 Japan Car of the Year Awards (JCOTY).

A number of supporting technologies were evaluated by the organizing committee and the ones that stood out were the Propilot 2.0 that enables hands-off single-lane driving on highways, the meticulously designed aerodynamics, and the 1.4-liter three-cylinder engine that was developed specifically for e-Power.

The latest iteration of Serena was launched in Japan in 2022.

Aside from its cutting-edge technologies, the minivan has also been praised for its spacious and feature-packed cabin that offers exceptional comfort to all occupants. It is designed with a multi-purpose center seat so that it can accommodate up to eight passengers, and a dual rear door that allows easy loading and unloading of cargo.

The all-new seat design dampens occupant movement, while the highly rigid steering wheel ensures stable handling.

The Serena also features the second-generation e-Power system that delivers more powerful and smooth acceleration with reduced engine noise. It also comes with the e-Pedal Step, allowing the driver to control the speed with just the accelerator.
