According to the Japanese automotive brand, it plans to compete in the open-wheel single-seater motorsport championship for electric cars from Season 13-16. From 2026-2030, Formula E will use GEN4 cars, which use the most advanced technologies to date.
GEN4 race cars can put out as much as 804 horsepower with a regeneration capacity of up to 700 kilowatts. In addition, they boast cutting-edge features and safety innovations, representing a significant step forward in electric vehicle racing technology.
Nissan sees Formula E as the world’s most innovative laboratory for electric mobility solutions. On that note, the racing series provides the company with the perfect environment to develop its electric vehicle technology and test itself against the toughest competition.
