Nissan unveils updated Magnite crossover in India

The updated India-spec Nissan Magnite uses a 1.0-liter turbocharged or naturally aspirated inline-3 gasoline engine.In a nutshell, the model looks similar to the pre-facelift version, but the Japanese brand provided the ride with new features to make it a more well-rounded daily driver.
Exterior
Just like its previous iteration, the refreshed Nissan model sports a striking exterior look, which was enhanced by sharp-looking LED exterior lighting fixtures, a set of 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, and a relatively large grille.
Likewise sprinkled all around the ride are chrome decorative pieces and several black-colored parts on its side skirts, lower front and rear bumpers, and wheel arches.
Other notable exterior features of the model include a rear wiper, a sharkfin antenna, a set of splash guards, and a puddle lamp, among others.
Interior
The biggest additions to the Magnite are found in its cabin. Here is a list of the new interior features of the Nissan five-seater crossover:

Apart from the wireless smartphone connectivity options listed above, the said screen features built-in Wi-Fi tethering and Bluetooth.
Safety
For safety, the refreshed model was kitted out with what one would expect from a modern crossover.
Its standard safety kit consists of the following:

- ISOFIX child seat anchors
- Tire pressure monitoring
- Vehicle dynamic control
- Hill-start assist
- Anti-lock braking
- Electronic brake-force distribution
Performance
Propelling the higher-spec versions of the updated India-spec Magnite is a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine. The aforementioned mill can produce up to 97 horsepower (hp) and 152 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.
The lower-spec trims, meanwhile, use a naturally-aspirated 1.0-liter engine capable of outputting 71 hp and 96 Nm of torque.
Power is sent to the vehicle’s front wheels through a continuously variable transmission, a five-speed automated manual transmission, or a five-speed manual gearbox.
Nissan’s production ramp-up
Per the car brand, the updated Magnite represents the expansion of its production efforts in India.
Specifically, the updated model will be manufactured locally and exported to 45 left-hand-drive markets, such as the United Kingdom (UK), the Middle East, Europe, and Oceania. The marque’s Indian production facilities have also shipped the model to a total of 20 right-hand-drive markets, as well.
In total, Nissan is looking to export 100,000 Magnite units by 2026, making India one of the car maker’s second export hub following the UK.
In the context of the local market, Nissan Philippines Incorporated currently sells the similarly-sized Kicks e-Power, which starts at P1.179 million. But the question now is, would you like to see the brand add the Magnite to its local lineup as a more affordable option?
