The updated sports cars will include two special editions — the 2024 Nissan GT-R Premium Edition T-spec and the 2024 Nissan GT-R Nismo Special edition — The 2024 models are planned to hit the market in the coming spring in Japan and will be joined by the Nismo versions, planned to go on sale in summer.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What exterior changes are found in the 2024 Nissan GT-R R35?

This is the fastest GT-R ever because of improved aerodynamic performance, brought by new wings, fins, and front grille.
  • What performance updates are included in the 2023 Nissan GT-R?

Suspension tuning and the addition of a mechanical limited-slip differential to the front final drive are included.
  • The 2024 Nissan GT-R maintains its position as a high-end sports car by "developing toward maximum driving pleasure" as its product concept. The new models reflect the next step in balancing ride quality and speed.

"Fronted with a new grille design, cutting-edge technologies and craftsmanship, the new models are the pinnacle of the GT-R R35," Nissan COO Ashwani Gupta described the model’s updates as thus.

The models have a more refined riding quality and better aerodynamics. In order to improve onboard comfort, noise and vibration have been decreased while retaining horsepower.

The terms "trend" and "traction" served as the inspiration for the 2024 Nissan GT-R T-spec, which symbolizes the GT-R's concept of leading and influencing the times. The GT-R T-spec was designed to have strong grip and to always be on the cutting edge. With newly installed carbon disc brakes and precisely calibrated suspension, the 2024 Nissan GT-R Premium edition T-spec now offers the enjoyment of a comfortable ride and responsive handling.

Nissan's 2024 GT-R Nismo makes the most of racing technology. This is the fastest GT-R ever because of improved aerodynamic performance, suspension tuning, and the addition of a mechanical limited-slip differential to the front final drive.

For improved drive quality, a more cohesive feel with the car, and higher comfort, the special Recaro carbon back bucket seats have been updated. High-precision weight-balanced engine components, such as piston rings, connecting rods, crankshafts, and a clear-coated NISMO-exclusive carbon engine hood, are used in the Nissan GT-R Nismo Special edition (with NACA ducts).

All GT-R variants are powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 engine, with the Nismo versions featuring special tuning. As before, these engines are paired with six-speed automatic transmissions and four-wheels drive. For the full specifications of the 2024 Nissan GT-R, refer to the specifications below.

The Nissan GT-R has been a popular choice among professional racers and those with a need for speed.

Its racing legacy goes back to the '90s, when the R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R joined the Japanese Touring Car Championship. According to Drivetribe, “the GT-R won 29 races out of the 29 Touring Car races in the three years that it ran in.” Although it was then a newcomer in the international racing scene, the Nissan GT-R also triumphed in the 1991 edition of the Spa 24 Hours race in Belgium.

One of the R32’s highly remarkable performances was shown at the Australian Touring Car Championship, where it won against the renowned Ford Sierra Cosworth. Its terrific show impressed Australian automotive journalists, who referred to the Nissan GT-R as “Godzilla.” The R32’s dominating presence on the race track was compared to the Japanese fictional monster.

The Nissan GT-R also finished the 1990 to 1992 editions of the Bathurst 1000 with three Group A and two first place championships.

After many successful iterations, the GT-R is still regarded as a road-going monster in modern times. There are now two Nissan GT-R models (based on the pre-updated version) available in the Philippines: the Nissan GT-R Premium and the Nissan GT-R Nismo. For local gearheads, the GT-R provides a fantastic drive with its power output of up to 608ps and torque of up to 652Nm.

With the addition of comfort and convenience amenities, the sports car has become less daunting to operate on a daily basis, monster or not. The GT-R also features semi-aniline leather appointments and a single, leather hide that is manually chosen for a seamless leather appearance. Moreover, numerous, conveniently accessible screens exist as an advanced way for the driver to obtain instant feedback to major performance standards. This results in an informative and interactive drive, as the innovative features of the GT-R's instrument panel offer faster readability combined with versatility.
