MANILA: Nissan Motor Corporation Limited sold 1,436,052 vehicles globally in the first five months of 2024. 

From the aforementioned figure, 1,226,607 units rolled off from the brand’s retail facilities outside Japan. Within its native territory, the marque achieved a sales figure of 209,445 vehicles. 

The most prominent region in based on 2024 cumulative sales is North America with 556,122 units, followed by China with 286,445 units , then Europe with 162,490 units. 

Other areas also bought a total of 221,550 Nissans from January to May. Areas labeled under “Others” by the car company’s report include Taiwan, Thailand, South Africa, Brazil, India, Egypt, France, and Argentina. 

In May 2024 alone, the carmaker sold 240,826 units outside its home market, while 31,579 were retailed within Japan. The said figures amount to a total global sales of 272,405 for May. 

Nissan did not provide exact sales numbers for other regions in Asia. However, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Incorporated (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) recently reported that Nissan Philippines had already handed over 11,559 vehicles to owners in the first five months of 2024.

Regarding exports, the Yokohama-based carmaker shipped 163,180 cars from the Land of the Rising Sun. North America received the bulk of said exports, with 84,404 units from January to May. Europe, in turn, received 23,611 units, and other regions received 55,165 units. 

From January-May 2024, the automotive company produced 1,367,701 cars worldwide. Of the said worldwide production volume, 277,139 units were manufactured in Japan, while 1,090,562 were produced overseas.
