MANILA: The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be suspending the expanded number coding scheme on August 23 and August 26, 2024.

As a reminder, the expanded number coding scheme, or simply “coding,” is an anti-congestion measure enacted by the MMDA for the entirety of Metro Manila.
The said scheme is made active during rush hour times. Specifically, it is enforced from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays (excluding holidays).
Private cars with number plates ending in 1 and 2 are prohibited from plying major public roads during the aforementioned times on Monday, 3 and 4 on Tuesday, 5 and 6 on Wednesday, 7 and 8 on Thursday, and 9 and 0 on Friday.
