Omoda 5 EV to debut at MIAS 2024

MANILA: The Omoda 5 electric vehicle (EV) is set to make its debut at this year’s upcoming Manila International Auto Show in April.

According to the local arm of the Chinese carmaker, the Omoda 5 EV is an electric crossover that looks to address the modern market’s pursuit of futuristic mobility. Thanks to some of its technological highlights, the brand’s first all-electric car could successfully connect young car buyers who eye vehicles packed with advanced features.

The Omoda 5 EV is fitted with a highly efficient electric drive system that lets the crossover achieve 94 percent stable output power but also incorporates a quiet design, significantly enhancing the comfort of the driving experience.

Juicing up its electric motors is a 61-kilowatt-hour high-capacity lithium iron phosphate battery that delivers long-range and rapid charging capabilities.

“Lithium iron phosphate batteries offer high safety and stability, being less prone to combustion or explosion when damaged, and are devoid of memory effect, meaning they can be charged at any time without the need to discharge first,” Omoda explained in a press release.

The Omoda 5 EV also boasts an intelligent cockpit. The systems inside the cabin are said to be powered by Qualcomm chips, which creates a seamless human-vehicle interaction. One of the highlights of the crossover’s interior is its industry-leading 24.6-inch curved 2K HD dual-screen monitors, providing drivers with an immersive visual experience.

Here, drivers can check out the Omoda 5 EV’s many functions including its various drive modes and advanced intelligent driving assistance functions. These features, the marque said, effectively address diverse user needs and construct an all-encompassing safety protection system.
