Omoda 5 EV With 450km Range To Launch in Q4 2023

MANILA: By the fourth quarter of this year, the Omoda 5 EV is expected to go on sale by the fourth quarter of the year — coinciding with the launches of the Omoda and Jaecoo brands. These two brands and Jetour are all Chery Holdings-owned companies.

A liquid-cooled permanent magnet synchronous motor with a power output estimated at 201 hp and about 400 Nm of torque will power the Omoda 5 EV. A fully charged vehicle's range is between 300 and 450 kilometers. Along with a portable 220v charger, an AC/DC charging module is included with the automobile as standard equipment.

Omoda Philippines stated that because the Omoda 5 EV will benefit from our government's tax exemption program for EVs, pricing for the vehicle is anticipated to be extremely competitive. Exemption from the number coding scheme under the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA) is also another benefit the 5 EV receives.

The 5 EV will have cutting-edge features like a 16-function ADAS System — which includes Front Collision Avoidance, Front Departure Reminder, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Driver Monitoring System, and Driver Assistance System — in keeping with its youthful and tech-oriented theme.

Two 10.25-inch screens on the dashboard of the car serve as projection surfaces for a 360-degree view camera and even a heads-up display. Both the driver's seat and the passenger seat include power adjustments, as well as seat heating and ventilation features. The Omoda 5 EV also includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard features.

Each passenger in the cabin has access to the vehicle's one-pinch automatic feature for all windows, and the driver has full control over the remote start, keyless entry, and air conditioning switches with the touch of a button on the key fob. Eight-speaker Sony sound system, three high-speed USB ports, two power outlets, and a wireless charging station for smartphones are all included in the cabin's amenities.

No word on pricing just yet but The Omoda 5 EV will surely shake up the market, eager to try out electrified mobility.
