Omoda 5 Receives 5-Star ANCAP Rating

MANILA: The Omoda 5 received a five-star rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) after passing the most stringent safety evaluation.

This further proves the safety and reliability of the Omoda 5 after previously receiving a five-star rating from the Euro NCAP in 2022.

The Omoda 5 garnered scores of 87% for Adult Occupant Protection, 88% for Child Occupant Protection, 68% for Vulnerable Road User Protection, and 83% for Safety Assist.

The five-star ANCAP safety rating is a testament of the Omoda 5's commitment to the highest standards of vehicle safety, guaranteeing the maximum level of protection for its customers and other road users.

The Omoda 5 has been developed based on the key demands of customers throughout the world. It has made major advancements in body design, safety features, and other areas, and was tested in various environments and road conditions around the world.

Its body is made primarily of high-strength steel, with steel making up 78% of the structure. It can withstand up to 1,800Mpa of pressure. The cage body has been designed and constructed with ultra-high strength materials to prevent deformation of its overall structure in case of accident.

The Omoda 5's cabin also comes with numerous airbags, including those in the driver's and passenger's seats as well as the middle, side, and curtain airbags, which can offer full protection for occupants in case of a collision.

The innovative technology in the Omoda 5 is the latest in an array of advancements that resulted in improved driving and riding safety. The Omoda 5 comes standard with an advanced driver assistance system, which includes adaptive cruise control (ACC).

The Omoda 5 effectively represents the brand's  concept of integrating safety in its products by achieving a five-star rating at the ANCAP safety crash test. To date, the Omoda 5 has been introduced in 12 markets around the world. Total export sales for the first half of 2023 have reached 70,821 units, and in June of this year, it came in third in China's export model sales. 

Omoda is set to enter the Philippine market in the fourth quarter of the year, with the Omoda 5 as its introductory model.
