Omoda 5 units brought to PH for pre-launch activities, previews

MANILA: The initial batch of Omoda 5 units has now been brought into the country and will be used for pre-launch activities and previews, Omoda Philippines said.

According to Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines, its Country Director Marco Chen flew all the way from Anhui, China to personally inspect the Omoda 5 units that landed in the Philippines.

What specific Omoda 5 models were brought here was not clear, but Omoda Philippines revealed that the Omoda 5 variants to be offered in the Philippines will be the 1.5-liter turbocharged internal combustion engine (ICE) entry-level model, the 1.5-liter turbocharged ICE top-spec grade, the Omoda 5 EV 9electric vehicle), and the Omoda 5 EV Extended Range (up to 450 kilometers).

“We are excited to finally have the actual Omoda 5 units in the country. This way, we can have an avenue to offer our stakeholders, media partners, and potential clients a full-on experience with the car even before its formal launch. We also have some pre-launch activities in the pipeline that’s geared towards building more confidence with our products,” commented Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines Brand Manager Uzzi Asuncion.

A soft launch is slated for both Omoda and Jaecoo brands by the end of 2023. Retail of their products is expected to begin early 2024.
