One millionth current-gen Mini 3-Door unit to roll off production line this year

MANILA: The one millionth unit of the current generation of Mini 3-Door will roll off the production line at the Mini plant in Oxford, England this 2023, coinciding with the model's 110th anniversary.

“Maximum interior space on a minimum footprint” – with this simple yet brilliant vehicle concept, Sir Alec Issigonis changed the course of automotive history in 1959. The modern version of the Mini 3-Door defies expectations, renewing and setting itself apart from the competition with its distinctive style. Since then, Mini has stayed true to itself, introducing the current generation of the compact Mini 3-Door in 2013.

The Mini 3-Door is designed with dynamic lines, sleek contours, and short overhangs, making it a great ride in urban traffic. For its market launch in 2014, the current generation features advancements in technology, efficiency, and power delivery. The Mini 3-Door has maintained its status as an icon over the years, with a continuously expanding fan base all over the world.

Since the Mini 3-Door first went into production, there have been many different configurations available for Mini fans to choose from  From the Mini One First with its original 75hp to the more powerful Mini Cooper with 136hp and the racing-inspired Mini John Cooper Works versions, the Mini 3-Door impresses with exceptionally agile driving dynamics and has become the blueprint for modern compact cars.

The Mini 3-Door was previously only offered with a diesel or petrol engine. Since 2020, the Mini Electric has offered an electrified go-kart sensation. The one millionth Mini 3-Door unit is a Mini Electric finished in British Racing Green exterior paint. It will be delivered to Canada.

In 2022, Mini saw a massive boost in sales of electrified models, with one in five Mini models now electric.

The Mini family's next generation will also begin with the Mini 3-Door. The new version is designed from the outset for electric driving pleasure and has the perfect foundations for thrilling agility and the innovative use of space that is distinctive to Mini. Aside from giving Mini fans the best possible go-kart experience, the new Mini 3-Door aims to reduce its ecological footprint. In this way, Mini keeps honing the concept of pleasant urban driving that has been renowned for more than 60 years.
