PH auto brands laud Yulo’s Olympic wins

MANILA: Philippine automotive brands have lauded the achievements of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo.

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP), which backs Yulo through its “Start Your Impossible” initiative, wrote “The whole country is proud to be part of your exceptional journey towards yet another Gold. Congratulations Carlos Yulo! Thank you for raising the Philippine flag high. Your win is our national pride.”

In a separate Facebook post, the company noted, “Carlos Yulo is not only a two-time gold medalist but also a representation of #StartYourImpossible. From all-around, floor, to vault, Carlos pushed boundaries, redefined limits, and made the impossible a reality.”

Moreover, the local wing of the Japanese carmaker penned a message to Yulo and its sponsored Para-athletes:

“TMP congratulates Carlos Yulo on his gold medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

His story is a perfect example of achieving excellence by finding one’s own path and striving to be every day.

We are proud to be a part of his journey and we are very excited to work with him soon on his advocacy project for Toyota’s Start Your Impossible movement.

We also acknowledge the Filipinos’ great passion and unmatched sense of community that constantly push our athletes to shine on the global stage.

Let us keep supporting Carlos, all our Filipino Olympic athletes, and our Para-athletes who will be competing at the Paris Paralympics starting August 28.”

Similarly, the Philippine arm of the three-diamond marque congratulated the gold medalist through two Facebook posts.

Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corporation (MMPC) said “We’re all proud! Congratulations, Philippines!”

The carmaker also took the opportunity to connect its congratulatory post with the Mitsubishi Triton Athlete.

Further, MMPC also wittingly inserted the Mitsubishi L300 with a clever graphic post where the company wrote “Dalawang gintong medalya, bunga ng pusong Pinoy na hindi sumusuko! Congratulations, Pilipinas! (Two gold medals, the result of the Filipino heart that does not give up! Congratulations, Philippines!).”

Kia Philippines, on the other hand, stuck to its tagline “Movement that Inspires” and congratulated Yulo with posts quoted “On the world’s biggest stage, your move inspires us all,” and “Inspiration never stops.”

As for Suzuki’s part, the compact car specialist wrote on a Facebook post “Caloy, we’re so proud of you! We salute you for clinching the first gold for the Philippines at the Paris Olympics 2024! Let’s continue to cheer for our Filipino pride!”

For Yulo’s second gold, Suzuki Philippines Incorporated said “Carlos Yulo proves that resiliency towards a winning performance and excellence drives you to go gold! Congratulations Carlos Yulo for winning the Gold medal for the Artistic Gymnastics Men’s Vault at the 2024 Paris Olympics! We’re so proud of your second historical achievement!”
