Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman get Style Edition variants

MANILA: The new Porsche 718 Boxster Style Edition and 718 Cayman Style Edition are the two new variants that Porsche introduced for the mid-engine 718 model lineup. These new models will be first made available in Europe, with global distribution to follow.

The new models are distinguished by unique hues and matching contrasting elements, highlighting Porsche's commitment to ever more creative and vibrant bespoke finishes. The Style Edition variants are meant for those who want to stand out. This is particularly apparent with the new color Ruby Star Neo, a modern version of the Ruby Star color used on the 964 Carrera RS.

The new Style Edition variants stand out regardless of their exterior color. They come standard with 20-inch high-gloss black 718 Spyder wheels with colored Porsche crests. The Style Edition is also equipped with Sport Tailpipes in Black and High-Gloss Silver Porsche Script on the rear. The convertible top of the 718 Boxster Style Edition has “Boxster” model designations embossed above the side windows.

The standard features of the 718 Boxster and Cayman models, such as the Bi-Xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and integrated four-point LED daytime running lights, Sport Exhaust, ParkAssist, Apple CarPlay, a rear-view camera, cruise control, automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors with an integrated rain sensor, heated front seats, and two-zone automatic climate control, are all included.

The new Style Edition variants also come with an illuminated stainless steel door sill guard, floor mats with contrasting stitching in Chalk, a black leather interior, headrests embossed with the Porsche crest, and a heated, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel.

Customers can also choose from two available contrast packages for the 718 Style Edition, one in black and one in white. Both have “PORSCHE” emblems on the sides and decorative stripes on the hood. The wheels and the rear model designation are painted in black or high-gloss white.

Based on the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman, both Style Edition variants are equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine that produces 300hp.  280lb-ft of torque. The engine accelerates the car from a standstill to 100kph in 4.9 seconds. This time drops to 4.5 seconds when the Sport Chrono Package and the optional seven-speed PDK are fitted. The top track speed of the 718 Style Edition variants is 273kph, regardless of the transmission.
