What are the body options for the Porsche 911 Carrera T?
The sportscar can be had in coupe and cabriolet options. What powers the Porsche 911 Carrera T?
The vehicle is powered by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder twin-turbo boxer engine. In a statement, the Stuttgart-headquartered marque shared that the newest offering concentrated more on the essentials such as “agility, lightweight construction and an emotive soundscape.” For the first time, the Porsche 911 Carrera T is also available as a cabriolet and in six-speed manual transmission formats.
“The ‘T’ stands for Touring, and at Porsche this goes all the way back to the homologation of the 911 T as a touring car in 1968. The first 911 T was produced up to 1973. Since 2017, the 911 Carrera T has been back in the model range, positioned between the Carrera and the Carrera S. Pure driving pleasure, agile handling, emotive sound and a focus on the essentials are the distinguishing features of this rear-wheel drive sports car,” the company noted.
Drivetrain
Powering the Porsche 911 Carrera T is a 3.0-liter six-cylinder twin-turbo boxer engine that can deliver 389 horses and 450 Newton-meters of torque. The coupe version can do zero-100 kilometers per hour (kph) from standstill in 4.5 seconds and the cabriolet kind, 4.7 seconds. Their top speeds are 295 and 293 kph, respectively.
Since they enjoy increased power, the offerings come with bigger braking systems —with an all-round brake disc diameter of 350 millimeters and six-piston fixed calipers at the front.
To optimize handling, the Porsche 911 Carrera T has been equipped with rear-axle steering as standard in combination with a more direct steering ratio on the front axle — complementing the car’s Porsche Active Suspension Management (which was lowered by 10 millimeters [mm>).
Exterior
The Porsche 911 Carrera T wears several features that distinguishes it from other models in the series.
To easily identify it as a manually-shifting trim, a sticker with the shift pattern logo has been slapped on each of the triangular rear windows.
The inlays on the rear lid grille, the upper and lower trim of the exterior mirrors, and the machine-polished light alloy wheels are painted in matching Vanadium Grey Metallic. It also sports a spoiler lip similar to the 911 Carrera GTS.
It is offered in numerous colors schemes namely Legends (Shade Green Metallic, Crayon, and Slate Grey Neo), Dreams (Guards Red, Lugano Blue, Gentian Blue Metallic and Cartagena Yellow Metallic), and Shades (Jet Black Metallic, GT Silver Metallic and Ice Grey Metallic). Further body colors are available via the Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus programs. The crème dela crème version of the Porsche 911 T Cabriolet is optionally available in Black, Red, Blue and Brown.
The Porsche 911 Carrera T sits on 20-inch alloy wheels for the front and 21-inch for the rear.
Interior
Porsche has given the interior of the Carrera T an emphatically purist look that serves as the mainstream characteristic of the T-model.
It is outfitted with the standard Sport Chrono Package, shortened gear lever with open-pore walnut laminated wood gear knob, an MT badge in front of the shifter and transmission pattern logo on the passenger side of the dashboard.
Among the Porsche 911 Carrera T's standard equipment are the leather-upholstered and heated GT sports steering wheel, fitted with a mode switch (with a Race-Tex option also available), as well adornments in Vanadium Grey and door panel inlays in black brushed aluminum.
Occupants are welcomed with black, four-way electrically adjustable sports seats with Sport-Tex seat centers (with tartan fabric pattern exclusive for the 911 Carrera T) with 911 logo stitched on the headrests. Buyers may also opt for the 18-way adjustable seats or light full bucket seats as options.
Carrera T packages
The exclusivity of the Porsche 911 Carrera T can also be had in an exclusive Gentian Blue design package.
Outside, the aforementioned option has Carrera T decals on the front and rear lids and doors, MT stickers, light alloy wheels with a gloss-lathed front face that wears the said color.
Inside, the contrast stitching is in Gentian Blue to match the seats’ stripes. The same color also adorns the seat belts, the trim of the center console and the door panels, as well as the contrast inlays and the stitched 911 logos on the headrests.
