Porsche and Audi EVs can now be charged for free at Uptown Mall in BGC
MANILA: As one of the pioneers in the country’s transition to electric mobility, PGA Cars supports Megaworld Lifestyle Malls in its newly opened electric vehicle charging station at Uptown Mall in Taguig City. Megaworld has also partnered with several government agencies, including the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for this initiative.

The EV charging station is located at the Basement 2 parking area.During the launch event, DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista stated that this move is a “huge step toward greener energy and the adoption of more sustainable and eco-friendly practices in (the) vehicle and transportation industries.”
The electric vehicle charging station is located at the Basement 2 of Uptown Mall. It comes with 22kW chargers. The use of chargers is free of charge, and customers just have to pay the regular parking rates.
“Major retail groups and property developers are certainly in an ideal position to give consumers access to a network of charging stations, complementing the residential and mobile charging solutions provided with the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron,” PGA Cars Planning Director Christopher Chan said.
In 2020, PGA Cars introduced the fully electric Porsche Taycan to the local market. This year, the company started to offer more electric vehicle models including the Audi e-tron SUV, Audi e-tron Sportback, Audi e-tron GT, and Audi RS e-tron GT.
The Porsche Taycan and the Audi e-tron have been considered as two of the best fully electric luxury vehicles in the world. They are also currently the best-selling fully electric models in the Philippines.
PGA Cars has invested over P300 million for infrastructure and personnel development for electric vehicles. The company also aims to implement carbon-neutral processes for its operations in the future.
PGA Cars is partnering with different institutions from public and private sectors to strengthen its initiatives for electric vehicle adoption in the country.
“By setting up suitable charging facilities, corporations like Megaworld are helping create an ecosystem for fully electric vehicles,” Chan added. “Clearly, this shows a commitment to fostering the adoption of sustainable mobility in the country, as well as ensuring a cleaner future for all and this future starts now.”
