The hybrid Porsche 911 Carerra GTS also comes with Matrix LED headlamps, large cooling vents at the front, model-specific bumper, and a unique exhaust.According to the German carmaker, the Porsche 911 Carerra GTS is powered by a newly developed 3.6-liter gasoline engine paired with a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) integrated into the new, more powerful eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The said setup produces some 533 horsepower (478 from internal combustion engine, 55 from PMSM) with approximately 610 Newton-meters of pulling power. Other performance figures include a peak speed of 312 kilometers per hour (kph) and a zero to 100 kph acceleration of three seconds.
Outside, the Porsche 911 Carerra GTS also sports some new upgrades to match the updated powertrain system. To begin with, the hybrid 911 wears a model-specific bumper. It is complemented with a revised front light cluster with Matrix LED technology. Since space has been freed up, the carmaker was able to squeeze in larger cooling vents in the fore of the performance car.
Still at the front, the Porsche 911 Carerra GTS has five vertically arranged active cooling air flaps. They are accompanied by adaptive front diffusers in the underbody, which are controlled together with the said tabs.
The side profile of the electrified Porsche 911 continues to wear the iconic fastback and is highlighted by 21-inch wheels. A total of seven wheel designs are available, which includes ones that have carbon blades to help reduce the drag coefficient.
At the back, the hybrid Porsche 911 Carerra GTS gets a redesigned light strip with an integrated arc and a “PORSCHE” logo. The rear grille has also been redesigned with five fins on each side that connect to the rear window to form a graphic unit that fades into the retractable spoiler below.
In addition, the hybrid Porsche 911 also gets a model-specific exhaust system.
The cabin of the Porsche 911 Carerra GTS comes with a fully digital instrument cluster with a curved display that measures 12.6 inches. It is accompanied by a 10.9-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay.
With the relaunch of its iconic nameplate, Porsche has modernized four of its six model lines in just a few months: Panamera, Taycan, Macan, and 911.
“Our product portfolio is younger than ever and highly attractive,” Porsche Chief Executive Officer Oliver Blume said.
“It offers our customers even more customization options and exclusive experiences,” he added.
