Porsche lines up online Q&A sessions with racing drivers
MANILA: As with other auto brands, nay, companies, around the world, Stuttgart-based carmaker Porsche has shut down its facilities.
What’s a “Porschephile” to do now? Well, the German brand says in a release that it is “committed to staying in touch with enthusiasts as it now offers them the opportunity to refresh their knowledge about the different racing and series production cars.” It is even letting the kids join in on the fun and learning.
If you haven’t yet, follow the Instagram page of the Porsche Museum. From April 7, some of the marque’s most successful racing drivers will answer questions from fans. First off is Stephane Ortelli, who in 1998 clinched one of the 19 overall Porsche victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Running for the next few weeks, the Q&A sessions will afford fans the chance to pose questions for Le Mans drivers Hans-Joachim Stuck, Marc Lieb, Kurt Ahrens, and Mark Webber. Of course, these drivers are following the stay-at-home protocol and will take questions from their own homes.
Meantime, kids will get special online treats from April 8 onwards. Porsche says it has lined up “a selection of games and activities” on http://www.porsche4kids.com. “Porsche mascots Tom Targa and Tina Turbo will guide the children, who can choose to color pictures, or solve puzzles,” the company adds.
Tots can also engage in an online “Electromobility” team spirit activity. Through this, they can learn the basics and history of electric mobility – from the beginnings of electric vehicles up to the Porsche Taycan, the company’s first all-electric vehicle, which is set for local release in the Philippines this year, if everything goes according to plan.
