Newest offering ‘most powerful’ SUV in local lineup
MANILA: Porsche Philippines has brought to the country its most powerful sport utility vehicle (SUV) in its lineup, the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What are the two new Porsche Cayenne offerings in the Philippines?
The two new Porsche Cayenne offerings in the country are the Turbo E-Hybrid in SUV and Coupe forms. How much output can the new offering provide?
With the new setup, the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid can deliver 729 horsepower and 950 Newton-meters.The range-topping variants of the third generation Cayenne's spruced-up version — offered in Turbo E-Hybrid and Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe variants — received notable upgrades that contributed to range and performance.
The newest offerings are equipped with an updated 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine that can deliver up to nearly 591 horsepower (hp) supplemented by an electric motor with a 174-hp churn.
Combined, the powertrain set-up — which can dish out as much as 729 horses and 950 Newton-meters of torque — allows the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid to run 100 kilometers per hour (kph) from standstill in 3.7 seconds and reach a stop speed of 295 kph.
Aside from that, the vehicles can cover longer distances and short charging times. Beneath the load compartment floor is a high-voltage battery with an increased capacity of 25.9 kilowatt-hours. The said adjustment gives the vehicle an electric range of 82 kilometers (based on equivalent all-electric range-city standards). It also comes with an 11-kilowatt on-board charger that shortens at a suitable wall charger or charging station to under two-and-a-half hours despite the increase in battery capacity.
The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is fitted with adaptive air suspension with a new two-chamber, two-valve technology. The feature makes it possible to adjust the rebound and compression stages of the suspension’s operation separately to improve comfort and safety while offering an even wider spectrum between the Comfort and Sport Plus suspension settings.
The models also come with the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) in the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid while the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) and rear-axle steering are offered as options.
Both the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid SUV and Coupé wear the distinct front-end styling that will only be seen on the Turbo models, with enlarged cooling air intakes accented by shiny black air blades.
The wheel arch appointments as well as the exterior-color rear bumper further underscore the performance-focused character of the models. Other distinguishing features of the Turbo E-Hybrid models include two twin tailpipes in brushed stainless steel and red brake calipers.
Meanwhile, other standard features in the new Turbo E-Hybrid models are the high-resolution high-definition Matrix LED headlights.
Inside, aluminum inlays can be found within the dashboard and door panel trims while Race-Tex covers the roof lining.
Standard equipment outfitted in the vehicle’s cabin include a heated GT sports steering wheel, a mode switch for fast and direct selection of the desired driving mode, and 18-way adjustable leather sports seats. Alternatively, 14-way adjustable leather comfort seats are available.
Similar to the previous model, the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is fitted with a new cockpit with an all-digital instrument cluster in a curved and free-standing design with variable display options, a redesigned center console and the optional passenger display.
To recall, the new-energy-vehicle version of the Cayenne was brought to the country late last year. The offering was launched to bolster Porsche’s electrification efforts in the country.
