Portion of Meralco Avenue in Pasig to be closed off until 2028
MANILA: The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced the closure of Meralco Avenue in Pasig City from October 3, 2022 until 2028 for the construction of the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) Shaw Boulevard Station.

The 33-kilometer subway project, which is being financed by the Japanese government, will run from Valenzuela to Terminal 3 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City. According to the DOTr, there will be 17 stations along the route.
MMSP aims to cut travel time between Quezon City and NAIA from one hour and 10 minutes to just 35 minutes. It is expected to serve as many as 370,000 passengers daily.
