Per the agency’s chief, the President’s steadfast commitment reinforces the importance of modernizing the country’s public transportation system for the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the nation’s future.

Not too long ago, the President said that he disagreed with calls to postpone the PTMP for another review.

I disagree with them because sinasabi nila minadali. This has been postponed seven times. The modernization has been postponed for seven times (I disagree with them because they say it was rushed. This has been postponed seven times. The modernization has been postponed for seven times),” the President stressed.

The Chief Executive noted that those who have been objecting to the program are the minority.

80 percent have already consolidated. So paano naman 'yung 20 percent ang mag-de-decide 'yung buhay ng 100 percent (80 percent have already consolidated. So how can the 20 percent decide for the 100 percent),” the President pointed out.

So pakinggan natin 'yung majority at ang majority sinasabi, tuloy natin. So that's what we will do (So let's listen to the majority and what the majority says, let's continue. So that's what we will do),” President Marcos noted.

Lauding the President’s move to back PTMP, Guadiz said that his “leadership and vision for a modernized transportation infrastructure are vital in addressing the evolving needs of our commuters and ensuring a more reliable and eco-friendly public transportation network.”
