Read: PNP checkpoint locations to implement NCR community quarantine

MANILA: As parts of the Philippines go under community quarantine to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has set up checkpoints and control points along various roads that lead in and out of Metro Manila or the National Capital Region (NCR).

All vehicles must pass through these checkpoints. For the driver and passenger to be allowed entry to the NCR, or exit for that matter, they must first register a body temperature of 37.9 degrees Centigrade or below and then be able to present documents that they work/live in the NCR or vice versa.

Valid documents that will be accepted by members of the PNP include company ID or Certificate of Employment and/or proof they reside outside of the NCR like their home address on a government-issued ID such as a driver’s license or a Unified Multi-Purpose ID.

Exceptions to the rule are health workers, authorized government officials, and those traveling outside the NCR for humanitarian reasons.

Those 60 years old and above, pregnant women, or with compromised immune systems are prohibited from entering the NCR unless they have official business and proper clearances for travel and transport.

The orders states that those living outside Metro Manila but are working here will be allowed to enter as long as they present an ID proving that their work is here. Supposedly, we are to implement a total lockdown like what was done in other countries like China, but we also have to consider our workers, especially ordinary workers),” said Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año.
