'Refreshed' Honda City Hatchback arrives in PH

MANILA: After being introduced in 2021, Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated (HCPI) gave the City Hatchback its first mid-cycle update.

Serving as the follow up to the version that previously held 90-percent share of the local B-segment hatch category, the nameplate’s latest iteration sports several upgrades inside and outside the vehicle and is packed with more safety features.

The car measures 4,369 millimeters (mm) long; 1,748 mm wide, and 1,488 mm tall with a 2,600 mm wheelbase and 134 mm ground clearance. It also has the capacity to carry up to 841 liters of cargo.  

Outside, the new City Hatchback comes with a refreshed look thanks to the bumper and front grille’s design which complements the updated body kit, as well as the 16-inch Berlina Black alloy wheels wrapped with 18/55 tires.

Inside, occupants are to be greeted with full RS leather seats, and 4.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-ready.

Under the new Honda City Hatchback’s hood is the same 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, double overhead cam i-VTEC engine that can deliver up to 119 horsepower and 145 Newton-meters of torque. The power is sent to the front wheels via the continuous variable transmission with paddle shifters.

Also, the vehicle has a bioethanol compatibility of as much as 10 percent, which means it would be more than suitable to meet the a higher biofuel blend.

Among the driver assistive features of the under Honda Sensing are lead car departure notification, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation system, lane keep assist, road departure mitigation and lane departure warning, and auto high beam.

In addition, the car also has a Walk Away Auto Door Lock and six airbags, remote, engine start,  

Available in sole RS trim, the new Honda City Hatchback comes in various paint options namely Sonic Gray Pearl (new color) as well as Ignite Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic.

The vehicle is priced at P1.189 million — slightly lower than the image price of P1.194 million that was shared last month.
