Refreshed Mini range now available here
MANILA: Mini Asia and British United Automobiles Inc. have announced the availability of the updated fourth-generation Mini range in the Philippines. The Mini 3-Door, Mini 5-Door, and Mini Convertible, as well as the Mini John Cooper Works 3-Door and Mini John Cooper Works Convertible, have been updated in terms of design and technology.
In a statement, Autohub Group President Willy Tee Ten said, “Mini is kicking things up a notch in the Philippines with its biggest launch to date. With seven new variants across the range, there is a Mini for everyone. These cars are premium, urban, and thrillingly playful. No matter which version you choose, you will see a great leap in modern design, technology and pure Mini-ness while staying true to its iconic, classic go-kart design.”
A new, simplified, and particular clear design language runs throughout the range, directing the eye to the essentials. The front design has been totally redesigned, with notable features including a larger grille that forms a single unbroken hexagon and air intakes which replaced the fog lights. These updates give each Mini a more prominent front appearance while also improving aerodynamics. The rear has also received major design updates with model-specific rear apron geometry.
In keeping with the new “reduced design” concept, the interior features less chrome and reworked dashboard layout. All Mini models are equipped with a new sports leather steering wheel that features a new wheel spoke design and a black panel concept for the multifunction controls.
All models also come with a five-inch digital screen located behind the steering wheel. The digital instrument cluster was first featured on the Mini John Cooper Works GP and is now standard on all models across the range. It shows all driving-related information, as well as check-control messages and status displays of the driver assistance systems.
The vehicles are also equipped with an 8.8-inch infotainment touchscreen surrounded by a laser-engraved LED ring. The screen display with the symbols and white text on new color backgrounds features a high-end and contemporary look. The control system menu allows the driver to choose between two color schemes for the central instrument panel and the digital cockpit display. The content presented in “Lounge” mode is in a soothing color scheme spanning from turquoise to petrol blue. When “Sport” mode is enabled, the screen backgrounds are red and anthracite.
Wireless Apple CarPlay is also available, allowing drivers to stay connected while on the road. Meanwhile, the wireless charging feature keeps their phone charged as well.
The new Mini range is now available for viewing at the Mini showrooms in Bonifacio Global City, Alabang, Pampanga, and Cebu.
