The United States remained Rolls-Royce's single largest global market,6,032 vehicles were sold across over 50 countries worldwide, meeting both internal targets and Rolls-Royce's status as a high-end, global brand rather than a manufacturer focused on output. Every Rolls-Royce vehicle is handcrafted at the company's headquarters in Goodwood, United Kingdom.
The United States remained Rolls-Royce's single largest global market, while Greater China maintained its position as the brand's second-biggest market. Record annual sales and year-on-year growth in Asia Pacific was propelled by a strong success in Korea, whose strong economy is reflected in a fast rising luxury market.
The outstanding performance of the brand worldwide was supported once again by the uniqueness and variety of its offerings, especially with regard to bespoke personalization, and the brand's unmatched capacity to both meet and surpass customers' ever rising expectations.
Bespoke commissions set new records in 2023 in terms of both amount and quantity. Rolls-Royce filed many new patents due to the technological advancements needed to complete specific projects.
The year's commissions opened up new possibilities for the utilization of exquisite and rare materials as well as intricate craft methods. These included the exquisite hand-painted Gallery artworks for Phantom "Inspired by Cinque Terre," the stunning mother-of-pearl inlays for "The Pearl Cullinan," the hand-perforated leather seats for Black Badge Cullinan Blue Shadow; and the Starlight headliners featuring captivating celestial animations for Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis.
While the highly successful Wraith and Dawn models ceased production in 2023, the year was mainly notable for the launch of Spectre. The first-ever all-electric Rolls-Royce has garnered a lot of attention since its public debut in October 2022, especially from younger customers. This demand has resulted in orders that stretch into 2025, building a solid foundation for the brand's ambitious, all-electric future.
“2023 was another extraordinary year for Rolls-Royce, with strong sales performances in all regions and across the full product portfolio. It’s especially encouraging to see the enormous interest in and demand for Spectre, supporting the decision to adopt a bold, ‘all-electric’ strategy for future model development and production. The record level of bespoke commissions, both by volume and value, also underlines our position within the luxury sector, offering our clients opportunities for self-expression and personalization they cannot find anywhere else,” Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Chief Executive Officer Chris Brownridge stated.
Rolls-Royce also announced last year that it would be making a significant new investment in the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood in order to expand coachbuild's growth potential and improve its bespoke capacity and capabilities.
In response to the growing demand from clients for bespoke commissions, Rolls-Royce has further expanded its network of Private Offices. In addition to Dubai, which opened in 2022, the carmaker opened its Private Office in Shanghai, China in 2023, and it has confirmed that it will open more Private Offices in Seoul, South Korea and North America in 2024.
