Say hello to the 2020 Mazda3
MANILA: We have been covering stories on the all-new 2020 Mazda3 ever since the Japanese automaker previewed the newest iteration in March, earlier this year. After a rather long wait, we finally have the 2020 Mazda3 in the Philippines. In its fourth-generation now, the 2020 Mazda3 has arrived with better than before engines, new tech, and subtle design updates.
The front fascia of the 2020 Mazda3 vaunts a larger than ere front grille that is flanked by a pair of slim LED headlamps. Then there is the redesigned bumper that raises the sporty quotient of the new Mazda3. Brand-new LED taillamps and a set of new alloy wheels equally contribute to the appearance of the 2020 Mazda3. As a whole, the all-new Mazda3 looks much more mature and evolved than the previous-generation model.
On the inside, the all-new Mazda3 comes featuring the likes of an 8.8-inch MZD infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, and voice command, all-digital instrument panel, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air-conditioning vents, leather seats, powered driver seat, twelve-speaker sound system by Bose, active driver heads-up display, and adaptive cruise control.
Among the two engine options that are on offer, the first one is a 1.5-litre SkyActiv-G inline-four that produces 111 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 146 Nm at 3500 revs. The other motor on offer is a 2.0-litre SkyActiv-G pumping out 154 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 200 Nm at 4,000 revs.
The only transmission that comes coupled with both the aforementioned engine is the SkyActiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission. This gearbox also features manual select and paddle shifters. The 2020 Mazda3 is said to have an improved handling performance thanks to the new SkyActiv-Vehicle architecture, which has not only made the new Mazda3 lighter but also stronger.
Mazda has never compromised on the safety front and similar is the case with the 2020 Mazda3. Both the Sedan and the Sportback models get multiple SRS airbags, ABS with EBD & BA, traction control, dynamic electronic stability control, driver attention alert, high beam headlight control, engine immobilizer, tyre pressure monitoring system, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, smart brake support, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and a reverse camera with parking sensors.
