Sportier Porsche Cayenne GTS and GTS Coupe to appear in July

MANILA: Porsche is adding two more variants of the Cayenne, the Cayenne GTS and Cayenne GTS Coupe. The Stuttgart-headquartered brand says both highlight excellent driving performance. The new GTS package features improved equipment; a sportier design; and a lowered, performance-oriented chassis. Both the Cayenne GTS Coupe and Cayenne GTS are currently available for order and will appear in dealerships starting July.

The standard Sport Design package guarantees an exclusive and distinct appeal in combination with multiple accents in black. The new Cayenne GTS models include a satin-gloss black 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels. Combined with these wheels, the generously sized grey cast-iron brakes (358 x 28 mm at the rear and 390 x 38 mm at the front), fitted with red brake calipers, the new GTS models deliver the impulsiveness and agility of a real sports vehicle to the SUV segment.

The sportiest Cayenne models also have uniquely designed sports exhaust systems to complement the performance of the new vehicle and provide a significantly emotive aural experience. The exhaust system is set as standard with its tailpipes situated at the outer sides of the rear of the car, configured to generate a distinct character and a sporty appeal.

The high frequency-tuned sports exhaust system is considered to be an innovation. It includes two centrally placed oval tailpipes that are provided uniquely on the Cayenne GTS Coupe. In the future, it will also be part of the Cayenne Turbo Coupe, and it will be combined with the optional Lightweight Sports Package in every case.

The LED tail light bar and the LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) are dark-tinted. The model and Porsche logos on the rear, tailpipes of the sports exhaust system, side window trims, and front air intakes are also in black.

The sophisticated and sporty vibe of the Cayenne GTS models is well-highlighted in the use of high-quality interior materials, which include dark-brushed aluminum and Alcantara leather.

The standard eight-way sports seats, exclusive for the new Cayenne GTS models, provide maximum support for dynamic cornering thanks to the improved height of the side supports. The GTS logos are situated on the head restraints, rev counter, door entry sills, and front doors. Several personalization options include the GTS interior package, having additional color accents in Crayon or Carmine Red, for aspects like decorative stitching.

As for the chassis, its setup on the new Cayenne GTS models generates the optimum requirements for excellent lateral dynamics. The standard steel-spring suspension depresses the car by 20 mm, and it features the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) for sporty and active damper control. The Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) has also been fitted as standard.

As an alternative, optimized deceleration can be attained through the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) or the Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB) with tungsten carbide coating. Other options include the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) active roll stabilization system, rear-axle steering, and ten millimeter-lower three-chamber air suspension.

Typical for Porsche GTS models, the powertrain plays a significant role because a V8 engine is under the bonnet of the Cayenne GTS instead of the 3.6-liter V6 biturbo engine from its predecessor. With a torque output of 620Nm and a power output of 453 hp, the four-liter V8 biturbo engine provides considerably enhanced performance in all aspects.

Moreover, efficiency has been emphasized, and it has been attained through an exceptionally configured thermal management system, direct petrol injection with central injector position, adaptive cylinder control, and Tiptronic S eight-speed automatic transmission.
